Rhinoplasty recovery is often less difficult than expected. Dr. Angela Sturm explains that after surgery, a nasal splint and tape remain in place for five days. Nasal drainage is normal and resolves within three days. Patients should avoid blowing their nose during this period.

Most people take 10 to 14 days off work, though some return sooner. Bruising varies, but by two weeks, it usually fades or can be covered with makeup. Pain is typically mild, with many patients needing only over-the-counter medication after the first few days.

A stuffy nose is common, similar to a mild cold, and improves by the second or third week. Many patients notice improved breathing after recovery. Dr. Sturm encourages consultations for personalized advice, helping patients prepare for a smooth recovery.
